With the fire season around the corner, Hinterland saw it fit to reward two farmers' associations for their loyalty and support of the AgriRewards+ program.

The Steynsrus Farmers’ Association and the Weiveld Farmers’ Association in Parys each received a fire fighter unit to use within their respective communities. This is a practical gift that not only highlights the importance of fire safety but also the value of farmers standing together and supporting one another in a community.

Johan Cromhout, Manager of Retail Procurement and Sales at Hinterland, explained that the choice to give away fire fighters as prizes was not only symbolic, but also an opportunity for Senwes to provide an essential tool for farmers during fire hazard times. "Fire fighters may seem small," Johan said, "but when you need one, it can make a big difference – not only on your farm, but also in your community. It’s a practical gift that emphasises the role of community care and fire fighting," Johan said.

The handover of the fire fighters was a special event where farmers could see how their loyalty makes a difference in their communities and could also reflect on the special journey they’ve walked with Hinterland and other departments within the Senwes Group.

AgriRewards+ – Your return on loyalty

AgriRewards+ is a loyalty program that helps farmers' associations generate funds that can be used to support community projects, from schools to safety measures. The program is free to join, and every purchase you make contributes to funding your community’s needs.

In 2024, AgriRewards+ paid out R1.5 million to farmers' associations and will do the same in 2025. They are so passionate about the change they can bring that in 2025, they’ve also decided to register individuals for the program.
