The Bud-Off Dehorning Paste:

-Avoid application in rainy weather as paste can run into the calves’ eyes.
-Best results are achieved when using paste at one week of age (or as close to this age as possible).
-Cut the hair around the horn with a pair of scissors.
-Use gloves when applying the paste and shake tube very well before use.
-Use only enough paste to cover the horn.
-Rub paste in and remember to cover the base of the horn as well.
-After application, put calves in a pen for about 2 hours. This prevents cows from licking the paste, or as the calf sucks, that paste rubs onto the cow’s stomach.
